A Special Remembrance Weekend.
This year on the 11th day of the 11th month will be the 100th anniversary of the ending of World War 1, the war that was to end all wars….
We are sure that many of you in the Chesil Bank area will want to commemorate this special date.
The day prior, there is to be a special Saturday Remembrance Day cafe in Portesham Village Hall hosted by the Abbotsbury & Portesham Branch of the Royal British Legion, who are recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Rev. Margaret of this Parish has been granted £500.00 from the West Dorset District Council for community use to celebrate the ending of WW1.
She along with a group of helpers in the area are planning some special community events in the church and village hall for this coming Remembrance Sunday.
