The co-ordinating group held a Village Café in October 2013. Thank you to those who came, you helped us raise over £300! Together with monies contributed by the organisers of the Christmas film show last year we have almost £500 collected, which is half the monies required overall to produce the map and locate it in the village which was completed in 2015. The café also gave us the opportunity to consult with people about the map's content, we were given some useful feedback and ideas and everyone seemed to think it a good idea. It was also a chance to exhibit some of the work by children at the school, including sketches of Hardy's Monument. Their work will form part of the map.
Recently they have visited Portesham House, where Admiral Hardy lived, to find out about him and have walked to the Monument for a special guided tour from the National Trust Ranger. Here's a photograph of their visit.
