Portesham Village Hall

A spacious, modern hall, situated on the edge of our historic and picturesque village in the heart of the Dorset countryside.

It has 3 rooms for hire, a lawned garden with patio and a car park.

Capacity:

Our maximum permitted numbers are historically according to our risk assessments based upon Fire Safety requirements.

However, the latest guidance on capacity from A.C.R.E. (Action with Communities in Rural England), the national body which supports village halls, recommends we reduce the number of people we have in the hall for Covid safety reasons.

The Hall's Trustees cannot ignore this advice so are recommending the the following limits apply to all events:

For performances, film showings and musical events, where the audience is seated theatre style in rows, the recommendation is for the maximum attendance to be 100.

For all other events where participants are seated at tables, for a quiz night or supper for example, or where they may be seated or moving around the hall, as for dances and cafés, the limit should be 65.
