The Village Hall Management Committee continue to recommend and encourage the following:
• Keep the hall well ventilated whenever possible.
• Hand sanitisers will continue to be available.
• Please stay at home if you feel unwell or have tested positive for Covid.
Limits on attendance have returned to pre-Covid levels (see below) but it is the responsibility
of user groups/hirers to limit attendance further if they so wish.

Portesham Village Hall
A spacious, modern hall, situated on the edge of our historic and picturesque village in the heart of the Dorset countryside.
It has 3 rooms for hire, a lawned garden with patio and a car park.
The First Aid box is located on the desk in the foyer. Please ensure that any use is registered in the enclosed record book - thank you.

Main Hall 20.2m x 9.2m
includes Stage 3.7m x 5.6m
There is a large fitted stage with appropriate concert style lighting.
The hall has full facilities including super-fast broadband and is suitable for conferences, celebrations and concerts.
A 4 metre electrically operated screen, an HD Optoma EH501 digital projector and professional sound system with eight surround sound speakers are available.
For performances, film showings and musical events, where the audience is seated theatre style in rows, it is recommended and requested that this capacity be kept to a comfortable 120 seats in 12 rows with an aisle straight across from the middle exit doors and seats to be connected in blocks of 5 either side of a central aisle, front to back (click here for plan), which allows for a bar to be in operation at the rear of the hall, if required.
For all other events where participants are seated at tables, for a quiz night or supper for example, or where they may be seated or moving around the hall, as for dances and cafés, the limit is 100.

Ron Doble Room
4.45m x 6.35m
This room is accessed directly from the foyer, and is ideally suitable for smaller functions and meetings.
Please note: it is requested that the black seats are not kept stacked but placed singly around the edge of the room.
There is a hatchway straight to the kitchen for serving refreshments.
Hardy Room
A smaller committee room with a table and chairs, ideal for meetings of up to 10.
A portable projector and screen are also available with this room.


Kitchen
The well fitted kitchen has a large hatch to serve the Main Hall.
It has a large expanse of worktop, 90cm electric range cooker with ceramic hob, small dish washer, drinks water boiler, microwave, fridge (incorporating a small freezer) plus a full set of crockery, glassware and cutlery.

Chairs:
130 upholstered, 50 plastic & 20 plastic child's seats
Tables:
8 rectangular aluminium tables 6' x 2' (suitable for outside use), each seating 6-8 people
10 rectangular melamine tables 6' x 2'6", each seating 6-8 people
10 square melamine tables 3' x 2'6", each seating 4 people
4 lower melamine tables 4' x 2'6" suitable for our children's seats
Crockery, cutlery and glasses are available
Toilet facilities: There are spacious Ladies and Gents toilets and a Disabled Toilet with baby changing facility.
Outside
Car Park: The adjacent car park can accommodate up to 20 cars.
Bicycle racks
The rear Garden, which is mainly lawned with a patio (which includes a storage bench containing 4
parasols) that runs the length of the hall, is approximately 10 metres deep with a double gated entrance from the car park.
