Portesham Ukulele Band

We are the Portesham Ukulele Band a.k.a. P.U.B. Established in November 2013 we are led by the wonderful Lucy Hackett, a teacher of music and a regular performer in the local area. She is one half of the vintage inspired duo ’Til There Was Uke.

We meet on a Monday evening from 20.30 in the Kings Arms Public House, Portesham although during high summer we travel further afield to play at picturesque spots such as the rooftop of Quiddles in Portland.

We are a very welcoming bunch, whatever your standard may be, and should you need, we will probably find a ukulele for you to borrow.

We have performed as a group at various events and have even tried our hand at busking! But there is no pressure on you whatsoever, you can opt in and out as you so wish.

Along with the rest of our lives it seems, our meetings in The Kings Arms have sadly had to be cancelled.

But this hasn't deterred our mentor, since 30th March 2020 Lucy has been holding our regular weekly sessions on-line!

One of our members has even found enough time on his hands to create this catchy little original number    -   "Portesham Song" written and performed by Martin Hedley

22nd MARCH 2021

We have had a mention in The Times!

"The King lives on!"

It's been a whole year since we've enjoyed playing together and we can't wait for the band to be back.
