Portesham Ukulele Band

We are the Portesham Ukulele Band a.k.a. P.U.B. Established in November 2013 we are led by the wonderful Lucy Hackett, a teacher of music and a regular performer in the local area. She is one half of the vintage inspired duo ’Til There Was Uke.

We meet on a Monday evening from 20.30 in the Kings Arms Public House, Portesham although during high summer we travel further afield to play at picturesque spots such as the rooftop of Quiddles in Portland.

We are a very welcoming bunch, whatever your standard may be, and should you need, we will probably find a ukulele for you to borrow.

We have performed as a group at various events and have even tried our hand at busking! But there is no pressure on you whatsoever, you can opt in and out as you so wish.

LOCKDOWN UPDATE:

We are delighted to inform you that our Monday evenings have been restored and we will be meeting throughout the summer, outside on The Kings Arms new decking, at 20.00 beginning the 26th July then every Monday until the 30th August.

Please join in with us if you can and if you have no uke, your voices will be very welcome!

One of our members found time on his hands to create this catchy little original number    -    "Portesham Song" written and performed by Martin Hedley

We have had a mention in The Times!

"The King lives on!"

It's been over a year since we've enjoyed playing together and we are so excited that the band is back.
